Pre-treatment Advice

  1. Your skin should be in good healthy condition before the procedure. For instance if you have a cold sore, scab, cut or active skin condition in the area to be tattooed it is not advisable to move forward with your procedure.
  2. Your cosmetic tattooing will appear swollen and darker immediately following the procedure. It is advised not to make social plans the same day.
  3. Please bring your favorite makeup pencils & lip colors with you to your appointment so we will know the colors that you feel comfortable with.
  4. If unwanted hair is usually removed in the area to be treated, tweezing, waxing, laser or electrolysis should not be done at least 48 hours before the procedure due to skin irritation and should not be resumed for 2 weeks.
  5. Skin peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments should not be done for 1 week prior to the procedure and at least 2 weeks after.
  6. If you dye your eyelashes or eyebrows please do it at least 48 hours before the procedure and do not resume for 2 weeks after.
  7. If you normally wear contact lenses please arrange to wear a pair of glasses after an eyeliner procedure and do not replace your lenses for up to 48 hours.
  8. If you are having an eyeliner procedure and are concerned your vision will be impaired it is recommended that you wear your glasses to and from the procedure.
  9. If you are having a lip procedure and have had previous problems with cold sores it is likely to re-activate the problem. You may want to call your doctor or dentist and ask them about a prescription medication called Zovirax or Acyclovir to minimize the risk of an outbreak.
  10. If you are normally a blood donor it is the blood banks policy not to collect blood for 12 months following a tattoo procedure.
  11. You must be 18 years of age in the state of California to get a tattoo.
  12. On the day of your procedure please make arrangements for your children, as you will not be able to attend to them while you are being worked on. For liability reasons they will not be allowed to play outside unsupervised.
